You are really welcome to join us for worship at the Abbey. Below is our normal pattern of Sunday and midweek services and there may be special events or services listed on our home page. If you have any questions please e-mail or call Sandie at the Parish Office (01666 826666).

SUNDAYS 8am BCP Holy Communion A simple, quiet service of Holy Communion, without music, and using the ancient 17th century liturgy of the Book of Common Prayer. The service lasts about 45 minutes and includes a short sermon.

10:30am Holy Communion or Morning Prayer with Healing Ministry (4th Sunday). An informal, friendly atmosphere, beautiful liturgy, a robed choir, hymns and anthems and at least 20 minutes of preaching - yes, we love the Bible too. After the service please stay for a Fairtrade coffee and in St. Aldhelm's Chapel our Prayer and Healing team are available to pray with you in complete confidence. On the 4th Sunday of the month this service is normally Morning Prayer with an extended time for anointing with oil and healing prayer. This service contemporary songs led by a small worship team and often there is an

4pm Informal Worship with Junior Church and Trax youth group. This congregation started in 2005 and is designed to be contemporary and informal and as family friendly as we can manage. You’ll normally find yourself in the midst of about 100 adults and as many as 75 young people. Modern worship, Kids songs, drama, listening to the Bible, learning together, taking time out to pray, fun, and a café in the middle (mostly) and at the end (always). There are crèche facilities at this service with an audio link to the service and snacks at 5:20pm for children under 11. After each service confidential Prayer Ministry is available and on the 4th Sunday of the month the service is an All-age Communion.

6:30pm Choral Evensong (2nd Sunday of the month only). A fully sung choral evensong in a tranquil Abbey with choir and organ, an anthem and a short sermon (more details here).

FIFTH SUNDAY: 11am Festival Communion. Just to confuse everybody, when there is a 5th Sunday in the month, we close down all our normal services and worship together. The family together. Coffee is served from 10:30am and we are joined by the congregations of Brokenborough, Corston and Rodbourne.


WEDNESDAY 10:30am. Holy Communion; join a congregation of 30-40 for Holy Communion in St. Aldhelm's Chapel followed by a coffee and biscuits.

THURSDAY 4pm. Evening Prayer; unrushed liturgy, plainsong, candles, incense, readings, prayers, peace, tranquillity, 15-20 people in the choir stalls.
